
Born on 5 April 1996 in Virajpet, Karnataka, Rashmika Mandanna made her name in the field of Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi cinema with her films.
Early Life and Education
Rashmika is from a Kodava Hindu family, her father is a coffee estate owner and function hall owner, Madan Mandanna, her mother, Suman, is a homemaker. She raised a younger sister, Shiman. She had her childhood in Coorg and attended Coorg Public School in Gonikoppal. Afterward, she went on to pick up a bachelor’s degree in psychology, journalism and English literature at M. S. Ramaiah College of Arts,Science and Commerce, Bangalore.

Career Beginnings
In 2014, she won the The Times of India Clean & Clear Fresh Face contest after which she was appointed brand ambassador of Clean & Clear. Noting the release of all these films,
she made her acting debut with the 2016 Kannada film Kirik Party, succeeded in projects like Anjani Putra and Chamak same year.

Rise to Prominence
In 2018, Rashmika achieved her popularity in Telugu cinema through the romantic comedy Geetha Govindam which bagged her a Filmfare Critics Award for best Actress — Telugu.
After Devadas, she continued her strike with Sarileru Neekevvaru (2020) and Bheeshma (2020). In 2021 citeturn0search0 she had her Tamil debut with Sulthan.

Recent Developments
Also, Rashmika’s role in pan India hit Pushpa: The Rise (2021) added to her stardom. However, she accomplished something similar with her historical action film Chhaava (2025) and Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024).
At an event in March 2025, she reunited with director Sukumar and things were looking up for their future collaborations.

Personal Life
Previously engaged to her Kirik Party co-star Rakshit Shetty in 2017, but they had decided to call off the engagement in 2018 due to their compatibility, Rashmika raised an awareness box through her Pushpa social media handles.

Recognition
She is also an endorser for the brands such as McDonald’s, Dabur Honey, and Kalyan Jewellers. In 2024, Forbes India included her in their ’30 Under 30′ list as one of South India’s best paid actress.

Recent Controversy
Rashmika had been accused for referring Hyderabad as her hometown in a February 2025 interview, the backlash came her way. The comment was criticized by a few Kannada speaking people since she had Kannada roots.
